About
Alfie Barnes is a visual artist and photographer. Based between London and the Isle Of Wight he is currently obtaining a BA in photography from the University of The Arts London (2025.)  Alfie looks at the notion of closeness within his works using this to address the Hyperobject through the lens of queer ecology, navigating this space through the creation of emotional landscapes. He investigates how this intimacy can be conjured through using the body as a point of contact within nature. He explores the relationship he has with his own identity by using self-portraiture producing melancholic and often poetic scenes. Within this there is always an element of discomfort that prevails through the imagery, drawing on the anxiety of uncertainty amongst a shifting ecological landscape.

His works have been exhibited on the Isle of Wight, in Bath and London, being shown at Peckham Safe House, Copeland Gallery and the Tate Modern.
